Owen Smalley is a guitarist based in South West London whose playing style draws on genres ranging from funk and blues to jazz and pop. His influences include the likes of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Band, Steely Dan, Funkadelic, Parliament, Vulfpeck, Joni Mitchell, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young. His listening preferences reflect his guitar playing in the way that it draws on late 20th century styles with a contemporary edge. Along with the guitar, Owen also plays bass, sings, and records.

Owen's fervour for music has led him to completely dedicate his life to his craft. Since living in London, he has been involved with many different groups and has played at numerous London venues performing both original and cover material. The gigs he has played have included weddings, private parties, corporate events, bar residencies, and original showcases.

Owen also benefitted from studying at the London Centre of Contemporary Music from 2013-2016 where he received tuition in guitar, composition, production, theory, and performance under the guidance of phenomenal musicians such as Blake Wilner, Ed Speight, Roland Perrin, Dave O'Higgins, Mark Armstrong, Simon Wallace, Silas Maitland, Mike Drinkwater, and Richard Brook.
